A few weeks ago, when I was studying for exams, I got this great idea to make my own green smoothie. I always get good ideas when I should be studying (read: procrastination) and this time something healthy came out of it!
What I love about green smoothies is that you can throw basically any fruit and leafy vegetable together and it will taste great. The first time I tried making a green smoothie with spinach, I thought it would taste disgusting, but fortunately I was wrong! With all those delicious fruit, and honey in this case, you barely taste the spinach. Green smoothies are an easy way to get in those nutrients.
Berry Green Smoothie
- Green apples
- Frozen blueberries
- Frozen raspberries
- Coconut water
I just eyeballed the amounts. If the color of the smoothie doesn’t turn out green enough (because of the raspberries and blueberries), just put in more spinach. To balance out the taste of the extra spinach, you could add more apples and/or honey.
Now, blend away and enjoy!
